Mrs. Madelynn McDermott II –
One of my furbabies is a “scaredy cat” and starting going outside the litter box. When the vet determined there was not an underlying health issue she put my cat on an anti-depressant and suggested a calming collar. When her behavior normalized, I decided to try the collar alone, and found it effective. The issue I had with the collar was it didn’t have a safety feature that would allow it to release if it lease if it got caught.I tried this disk since it slips into my cat’s existing collar. It is very big and cumbersome, but my (large) cat isn’t bothered by it. I would rather buy twice as often for a smaller disk, or spend more money for 2 smaller disks in the same package so there is a design issue. A small cat might really be bothered by the size. (It’s about the size of a half dollar coin.)However, the most important thing is that it is effective and is the best solution available. My cat is much calmer and has even started socializing when I have friends over.

Not sure how effective this is may need to continue to see. Smells good regardless.

During the first three days I did not notice much difference in the behavior of my cat. On day four I noticed that he is much calmer, will play with the other cat more and is sleeping better. I got this to help relieve his urine marking habits, which is a habit. He will not stop entirely but I hope with time it will happen less often. In the first four day he has marked the house much less, he still gets upset by the cats outside and tries to mark right after seeing them out the window. He still marks when he is angry at me. Neither of these things will go away but he is not marking as often after the use of the Calm Paws Disk.As for the disk it’s self: It’s Big, much bigger than I expected. I wish it was oval so that it was longer, not so round. It sits oddly on his neck, so I tried his harness today, I still am not liking it, He doesn’t seem to care. To give you an idea of it’s size, it’s as large as a round large dog tag. It slips onto the collar, if it was hanging I think I would like it more. Yet … I think it has to touch the skin, because now my cat smells like the Calm Paws Disk. That’s the second thing I do not really like. My cat smelled like sugar cookies, now he smells like lavender and other essential oils. That being said, It’s a trade off. One I will have to decide in 30 days if I like or not.
