My cat was curious about the silvervine sticks, and sniffed and sniffed. He realized he could chew on the sticks, but he tends to just lick them most of the time. For the red rubber teether, I will only leave it out when I can supervise the play time. He’s not too interested in it, and only likes to play with it if I toss it around, then he will chase after it.

As with all cat toys, you never know if your cat will love it or not care at all about it and only want the box it came in (there never seems to be an inbetween with cats). We’ve had good success before with silvervine sticks that were coated in catnip flakes; those got chewed and rubbed until the catnip coating came off, and then some more until the bark of the silvervine was all gone. These sticks have catnip oil on them rather than catnip flakes so I thought we could try them.When I first got these out and was trying to take pictures, I could not get my cats to stay away long enough for them to not be photobombing. They were vey interested in sniffing the sticks and rubbing their faces on them. However, I haven’t actually caught either of my cats chewing on these sticks like they have with the other silvervine sticks we’ve used before. They still seem to like them, just not for chewing, I guess?As per the included directions, I didn’t leave the plastic raspberry out where they could get to it while unattended (my cats haven’t had issues with chewing things to the point of breaking them and eating them before, but I’m not going to risk it), but the plain sticks have definitely been moved around a bit so they’re getting rolled or batted around at least. Who knows the mind of cat? Maybe I’ll try “marinating” these sticks in some loose catnip to see if that gets them to start chewing on them. Either way, these are very reasonably priced and my cats do seem to like them, even if it’s not in the way I was intending.
