I have 2 standard poodles and groom them myself most of the time. The Geib Gators are slick, clean-cutting, nicely balanced.Initially, I tried to save money by buying DoubleDucks. Sigh. They didn’t cut and it was miserable trying to get a clean line. They felt like kindergarten scissors compared to the Geibs. Don’t waste your money — go for quality the first time. You won’t be disappointed in Geib Gators.

Good and sharp right out of the box. My only gripe is with Geibs way of measuring, the entire shear is 8 1/2 inches, not the blades. These shears are good for little teddy bear faces and feet but you’ll need about 2 more inches for crests and body scissoring. The quality is as good as my Kenchii Five stars.

They came sharp and ready to use. Some complained that the finger holes were too small. Removing the plastic pieces inside the holes fixed that issue.

I have fallen in love with these scissors for my daily grooming. The curve on this pair of Gator’s is not a gradual curve, its more like a bent shear. It goes straight, curves about 15 degrees and goes straight again. What that allows me to do best is get alongside an area of the dog’s fur that I might not be able to align with straight and still make a straight line. Other curved shears would cut a dig due to the gradual curve. My straight shears didn’t allow me to get up against certain areas of the dog and these shears allow for angling for the best possible scissoring.Happy!

I was lucky and got perfect balance on these without having to adjust anything. They are comfortable to use and cut well. I’m sure they will be great as long as I am careful they don’t get kicked off the table. That’s usually what does my shears in. I usually get a year out of shears…hoping these last.
