Our rescue has a need for calming collars for difficult cats, and to test this one, we tried it on a very agitated and fractious mama cat with kittens. The collar didn’t smell bad, as some do–in fact, there was no smell we could detect. It was relatively easy to fasten on the cat. (It’s very long, so that’s good news if you’re trying to put it on a very large cat.) It also isn’t greasy or otherwise icky.Unfortunately, after two weeks, so far we’re not seeing any difference in her behavior, so it’s unclear whether it will take more time or simply isn’t working. My own experience with nearly all the pheromone products I’ve tried is that they mostly don’t work, regardless of brand or format.So this may be worth trying but it also may not work.Three and a half stars.
