I gave this a 5 star rating due to the fact that it does what it’s supposed to, easy to hold and gets my cat’s tangles out. I have a long haired cat and a short haired cat. I do not want two different brushes laying around due to the type of brush only works with certain lengths of cat hair. I have one that had a fine tooth and one that looks like drill bits on the other side, it worked alright but the issue was it has a rake type style brush and when I used it I had to hold down the side (it didn’t click in so the other side would pop up while brushing) cat’s don’t hold still they love to move when I brush them because i’m now their scratching post. So I tried to hold the cat and try to hold the hair and then with my other hand try to brush. Had problems with the rake style because i couldn’t get under the chin of my cat or their chest (where the tangles were definitely prominent) and so I tried this brush, since it’s on the side i don’t have an awkward angle to get under their chest and they love that. Now as mentioned earlier i have two cats one long one short. This brush seems to work well on both cats. My Himalayan/burmese is the short haired cat he actually looks like a flame tipped siamese, to give you an idea of how his hair is (short haired not long) and he loves being brushed I would hold the brush down he would rub on it and then allow me to comb (he’s an older cat so I start things out with him first then my other cat who’s a very long haired domesticated white cat) will then see that it’s not bad and I can repeat the steps described above and then comb him. he’s anxious and so I let him see by example before I try anything out on him. I recommend this brush due to the fact it works on both cats and the angle that the brush can get where as the rake style was rather difficult for me to use on my cats. the rake would be good if your cat allows you to brush it while on it’s back but mine would rather kill me than allow that to happen so this is the next best thing and no bloodshed! It’s a win win situation in my book!

My elderly long hair Birman can no longer groom because of arthritis so I’ve been brushing and combing out his tangles for about a year. I was using a flea comb which needed to be replaced. Bought this one and it works well on my old boy. The handle is nice and large for a good comfortable grip. The metal on the comb portion comes to dulled points so it won’t poke your pet. I am very gentle when working on getting the matted fur from my old cat and this one works well.I also have a short hair and this doesn’t work particularly well on her because the teeth of the comb are not close enough together like my old flea comb. I’ll have to get another flea comb for the short hair.Overall, it’s well made and me and my Birman really like it!

This is a nice comb to keep your cat looking fresh. Mine tends to get little matted by the tail and this works great and is easy to use and clean. Wonderful quality for the price, not cheap.

I like the JW cat items- they are all easy on the budget, and work well. This is a nice comb. It’s comfortable to hold and use and doesn’t pull the hair. I use it on my Ragdoll cats, who have long silky hair, which, while it does not require a lot of brushing, needs a brush out every now and then. This one, for the price, does a great job. Please note that it’s not a shedding or flea comb. It’s just meant to comb thru the hair and remove tangles.
