We have two pooches, one a Lhasa X Shih Tzu, the other a Shih Tzu X Schnauzer. When their coats are long this is an excellent comb for grooming better than a brush. I have another similar comb but much smaller size for their face which I use around their eyes and muzzle- but this one works to comb out the gunk that tends to accumulate as well, just a bit too big but still ok. I use both sides of the comb.

I have small dogs, schipperkees that get some mild collar matting around their neck, this is just perfect as it has 2 comb densities right on it- but it may not work for a big dog.

The comb is large and sturdy. I bought it for my 100 lb golden doodle who has coarse and curly hair.The knots come out easily with a little teasing first with the comb. This is the best comb I have bought. Other popular combs have broken in the middle but because of the shape of this comb, it is extremely unlikely to happen.Because of its shape, you could use it on smaller dogs also. Great comb.
