Destiney Kutch –
We took our cat to the vet to put them on and was impressed by how well they worked.

My outdoor-turned-indoor cat loves scratching, and has caused a bit of damage to couch corners and carpets. I considered de-clawing, but after hearing about the danger to my cat’s health, comfort, and personality, I looked for alternative options. These nail caps are perfect! They stay on well, are easy to apply, and I rarely have to replace them. My cat doesn’t even notice that they’re on him, and they don’t bother him at all. He still does the whole scratching thing at the carpet, couch, and his scratching post, but now he’s not causing any damage. Plus, they’re added protection from a cat scratch when my godson or small dog get in the way!

I got these for my Maine Coon. Princess Leia had a hot spot on her neck that she kept scratching open and I’d taken her to the vet numerous times for laser treatments and bandages, (and a change of diet and two cortizone shots) but every time she could get access to the spot, she’d scratch it open again.A friend had mentioned this product and I suggested it to the vet. The vet was skeptical and said she didn’t carry them, so I ordered them here and took Leia back to the vet so that the vet could put them on.After 4 months of taking my cat to the vet for the hot spot, the Soft Claws did the trick. Since they’re not hard and sharp, she’s unable to scratch her neck open while wearing them. 3-weeks after they had been applied, she scratched her neck open again because she’d lost three of them (the vet said that three weeks was probably about how long a set would last before she’d naturally shed some of them.) The injury was much less severe this time and I took her back to the vet to have the Soft Claws reapplied where she’d lost them. We didn’t even bother bandaging the injury this time and 2 days later it’s healed again. I am very relieved that Leia got some relief from the itch.Putting them on is really a 2-person job unless you have a really compliant cat. With my Maine Coon, she’s pretty squirmy and she has a lot of long hair between her toes, so I can’t imagine putting them on by myself.Leia’s 13 lbs with large paws and the vet said the large was the right size for her.

I don’t put these on myself, I have it done at the vet, so don’t know much about ease of use. I can say that when I have used the soft paws that the vet has, they started coming off right away. These I ordered from Amazon and took them to the vet to be put on, and it has been 8 weeks and all but one of these are still on. Don’t really know about comfort either since my car can’t talk.
